Educational and Training Services After upgrading the computers in the training center in the medical association, a contract has been signed between the internet authority and some specialized training center in computer and internet science.
The training proceeds on the system of terms, where each course extends for three month, for four terms per year. Bach term has at least 24 courses involving the computer basics, windows platform, Word, Power Point, Excel, especial courses for the internet i.e Homepage, kid courses.
At the end of 2001, a lot of members have been graduated with technical certificates from the Kuwaiti medical association. A new service has been used for connecting the computers with the internet, also the training programs have been updated, local area network, new displays, video projectors for better services.
Internet Services In 1998, there was a progress development in the internet services, where they established a new system for the membership subscription, and this is by using dynamic IP Address, increasing the data transfer through high-technology devices (Switches), which increase KMA LAN performance, and also additional access servers to increase the internet lines.
The internet services depend on one of the most high technology systems (Sun, Cisco) which are used in the biggest Internet service providers. The local network has been tuned up for better performance.
Since the establishment of NET-KMA in 1997 and the number of memberships is increasing, Pharmacy and dental association members are also allowed to join this service with fees membership. The local network has been completed by connecting all the computers together using common software program dedicated for the medical association and it has a membership index with all the information of the members since their subscriptions. Also this program contain the fees paid, membership expiration, additional important information, provide various statistics helping to improve the internet services.
The Kuwaiti medical association internet is considered one of the best internet service providers in Kuwait, and has superiority over many bigger commercial companies and most associations. .......
